Assyrians living in Georgia appealed to Catholics- patriarchy, apostolical-blessed Ilia II of all Georgia. It is said in a statement, that majority of Assyrians living in different part of the world belongs to the east noncalcegonic course, one of them was united with catholic church of Rome and the other part stayed devoted to the orthodoxy (they live in the north of Syria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia and in many other countries). Majority of them belongs to that religion and is a member of orthodox church of Georgia.
It is said, that they are founders of monkhood in Georgia, also are heirs of 13 Assyrian fathers, Ioane Zedazneli and his 12 spiritual learner. They have great will to have orthodox serve in any church, in their oldest Assyrian language.
Catholics- patriarch Ilia II made decision and blessed Assyrians in Tbilisi trinity cathedral on 1 October. Except that, for them was isolated a church (mention that, there are 12 churches in trinity cathedral). A confessor is to be appointed in village Kanda, where majority of Assyrians will live.
The church of Georgia facilitates to protect and popularize culture and language of Assyrians living in Georgia.
Mention, that church of Georgia is multinational, that means that its members are orthodoxs living in Georgia.
Assyrian divine service will not be exception, because members of our church are Abkhazians, Ossets, Russians, Greeks and others. Divine service is carried out in Russian and Greek languages. A church is being built for "Udes" ancient Caucasian tribe, residing at region of Lagodekhi.
